Softly Becoming explores the quiet, often unseen process of personal transformation. With her head tilted upward and her body emerging from darkness, the figure exists in a moment between who she has been and who she is becoming.
Rendered in charcoal, the deep black surface allows light to gently reveal the figure rather than fully define her. Small illuminated details across the skin create a sense of movement, vulnerability, and renewal.
This work is about growth that does not announce itself. Sometimes becoming happens quietly, through reflection, acceptance, and the decision to keep moving forward. Softly Becoming honors that gentle transformation and the beauty of allowing ourselves to change in our own time.
